(char in a series called walking dead that mostly succeeds in pissing you of and getting annoyed)

So I wanted to talk about a topic that has been bothering me for so long and I wanted to hear your opinions on it. This journal isn't only addressed to girls I think even guys can tell there is a typical stereotype in female characters when it comes to movies, series, anime etc...
NOW PLZ do not link me every movie, series and so on that includes female characters that ARE interesting, i'm talking about the MAJORITY of these things.

(char in walking dead that actually succeeds in interesting me, that's why i'm saying do not give a list of cool female characters i'm talking about the majority of series, movies etc)

So to start this of how many of you can say that your favorite character in a movie was a girl ? Honestly about 8/10 of the things I watch my favorites turn out to be male characters rather than female. There is no problem with liking male characters but the only reason most male characters are loved is because there are to little interesting female characters to care about. Why the majority in the things I watch result into male characters being my favorites has to do with one reason only. It's their personality... When I watch a series for me, my favorites are the ones that have special nature's and personalities people that are unique, and mostly it's male characters that take the honor of that in displaying several different types of personalities.

Now is is because females are boring ?
NO it has to do with one thing, which is the writers, movie producers etc who create the stories. Personally I find that they do a POOR job in female characters. The characters usually are extremely stereotype and I honestly don't get why so many people who create the series, books, movies etc succeed in presenting the most boring female characters ever x-x

Now as I said do not give me a list of your favorite girls that are different or cool i'm talking about the majority of boring female characters.

Typical female characters (stereotypes)
-------------------------
-Tend to be over emotional wrecks.
-They always complain about every detail.
-They tend to walk in the way, be useless make it harder or are plain annoying.
-They don't know what they want, one time they want this the other that.
-Many are so damn confusing for stupid acts they do.
-Their purpose always seems to be love related, they are mostly there to become a lover of another characters or only are there for the purpose of giving the other character a partner or they are like begging for the need of a lover.
-Submissive nature's who believe they need one male leader why hey why didn't they even consider two people as leaders if wolves can do it why not people?
-Helpless damsel in distress, at one point they just have to be saved and need their lover to protect or die for them or they are completely helpless.
-The typical bitch who seems to be stupid and does everything you know she will do that will make her look stupid and more likely to be hated.
-The sexual I am here for sex and pretty girl
-Guy saves girl is a typical thing that happens to female characters. Apparently the chances a girl saves a guy are super limited for some reason.
-fragile and weak
-All girls in Disney movies are princesses could it hurt to do a movie without them being a princess ? Not many of those exist.
-------------------------

These stereo types exist even in these days animated movies were the characters mostly have to be saved by their hero and so on.Now I have no issue with female characters finding a partner but I do have an issue with it how much the stories focuses on that.

(To female characters it's all about love)
There is no effort in female characters compared to males if wee talking about animated series take a look at this => every-flavored-bean.tumblr.com…
It shows you that through times the male characters always had different shapes in outer looks and so on while females were doomed to have the same damn facial looks making them kind of copies rather than unique. And I have to agree when watching movies that chances that I prefer a male character as a favorite are so much more higher.

So here i'm always wondering why is there spend so little time in female characters ? For example a movie many of you might know called "Wolf children", I really was displeased with what they did there, making the male char all mysterious and the girl of course another love story... It didn't make sense to me, the girl when young showed so much behavior wolf like playful exciting compared to the boy yet it turns out she suddenly becomes school interested needs a love story while the guy is all i am a lone wolf and I wanna be in the forest and wild etc ... Knowing a lot of wolves it would have sounded more likely for the girl to be going to the wild since she showed so much more behavior fitting to that of a wolf instead they gave the girl a typical story to be expected.

(more loved female char not all are bad luckily :'D)
I really wish that more time would be spend on female characters v_v *sigh* Being a girl myself it's just depressing to see these stereotypes over and over again knowing and predicting this and that is gonna happen x_x whenever I have a female favorite character i'm in joy to say omg this char is different than others XD Oh well gotta miss the more interesting characters not ?

Go Mulan XD *thumbs up*

Noooooow back to working on some delicious food i'm making with apple *_* I'll reply and check my mail later!

Soooo I happened to find this completely by accident, and I find it a pretty interesting topic.

I agree with most of what you say here. The reason female characters have the same stereotypes is because women have always been portrayed as the weaker sex, and while not too long ago they've been starting to get the same rights and opportunities as men (voting, working, etc.), you can still see that they're trying to separate the things men can do or like and the things women can like from an early age. I mean, how many times do you see a commercial where a little girl is playing with a sword or with action figures? ... *chirp chirp* ... *chirp chirp*

But of course, as you've said, not all of the female characters are bad. If you asked me who my favorite female characters were, I'd be able to list quite a few of them. There's Mikasa from Attack on Titan, Mulan (*high fives you for liking them too* :D ), Aki Izayoi from Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's, Saber from Fate/Zero, Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, Morgiana from Magi, Ryuko Matoi and Satsuki Kiryuin from Kill la Kill, Rin Tohsaka from Fate/stay night (who, despite displaying a female stereotype or two on rare occasions, can still be badass and fend for herself if she has to), and many more.
